When we first met Caitlyn and Mike, it was obvious how much this couple shared a “special connection.” We always hear couples talk about having that “special connection” but for these two, they’re not just referring to their relationship. Caitlyn and Mike also share the exact same birthdate!
Becoming friends at a young age because of their birthday, Caitlyn & Mike always knew there was something special about each other. In fact, Caitlyn initially turned Mike down for a date when they were only 15 years old. But nine years later, she said yes! On their 21st birthday, “we made plans to out together and the rest was pretty much history. We always say this is because we saved the best for last.”
The day before their 25th birthday, Mike got down on one knee and proposed to Caitlyn at the location of their first date, The Franklin Institute!
With the magical Christmas season in full swing, the couple said “I do” at St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bensalem. Spending the day photographing Caitlyn and Mike on their wedding day was a joy. They were so laid back and easy going. Caitlyn never even complained when we had them pose for portraits outside in the snow for close to an hour at the National Shrine of St. Katharine Drexel.
With the magical Christmas season in full swing, we especially love the outdoor photographs. Caitlyn’s elegant cape, which she purchased on Etsy, was the perfect accessory to her gown. And the snowy landscape really made the deep purple dresses of the bridesmaids and groomsmen’s tuxedos stand out.
Speaking of the groomsmen, these guys were a blast! They couldn’t stop picking on each other and goofing around. If you want proof, just look for Mike and his brother’s signature pose throughout their pictures. But make no mistake, the bridesmaids were just as awesome! The girls busted out group dance moves at the reception held at the Philadelphia Ballroom.
Family was definitely an underlying theme to the wedding. You could feel how close everyone was, and being the photographers in a room of people who have known each other for such a long time allows for a certain level of comfort. In the end, we felt like family surrounded by all of Caitlyn and Mike’s loved ones as we danced the night away!
